Hello! I am David.
Your work caught my attention with the relationship between colors and Cihangir. What does cute pink and wild red mean? The colors that represent the neighborhood in your photos definitely give it a mood. It would be great to hear about your inspiration in the photos!
The connection between colors and people has been always interesting for me. I think the place where he/she lives directly affects the person’s mood and I believe it’s possible to express people’s moods with colors.
Cihangir is a cosmopolitan and dynamic neighborhood. There are lots of people with different perspective and economic situations. Maybe they don’t really “love” each other but unlike some other neighborhoods, they can live in a harmony. I tried to define this harmony with a color with blurred lines. (I think red can be useful for define anger or love and pink for a charming, utopian atmosphere.)
As far as I can observe, the neighborhood is in a liminal position. Because of that, there are some kind a compatible irregularity. I hope I have been successful to show you this with my photos.
Hi Dilanur, it is interesting that you used a color to express your psychogeography exercise. Can you elaborate more on your experience and why you chose red and pink as a color filter for the exercise?
