On of the most striking things in this location is the abandoned houses. The living luxury and the rash between houses represent a life that has been lost. Gray and hazy imahes of houses reinforce this feeling. These buildings in Fikirtepe are visited by other people in the city (homeless).
Hey, my name is Juan! I like how you have abstracted the perception of the abandoned houses into monochromatic prints. I think it captures that essence of loneliness very well. How was your experience doing psychogeography, what location are this houses at? How did it fell walking though there? Are there any types of street art on the walls? Are people trying to express themselves? On my side I did exploration in the Mission District, a neighborhood known for its freedom of speech and latino cultural roots. It is a very colorful neighborhood with a lot of diversity which sadly is loosing its character because of the new wave of people coming to live in the city. Do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested in knowing more about it. I would love to know more about your project.
Hi, Juan. I’m Mine. Thank you for your comment. I’ve done my explorations around Fikirtepe region. I am interested in experiencing the psychogeography in abandoned houses. These houses were visited by homeless people and the writings on the walls are expressions of themselves. But the neighborhood loses its essence due to renewal.
Really great to use grey and hazy images to describe the abandoned houses. I really like the fifth drawing as I can easily tell it’s lifeless and sadness.
