Bayview Points creates awareness around the neighborhood’s current environmental issues that the residents continue to experience every day. Bringing people’s attention towards the environmental displacement happening around the neighborhood creates awareness so that people may be given a choice whether or not to respond to these pressing issues.
By highlighting the reported toxic sites in Bayview-Hunter’s Point, the map aims to show where and how illegal dumping and toxic odors have affected the residents. The project aims to bring visibility to the invisible so that viewer’s can be aware of Bayview’s current situation.
The map highlights areas where Illegal Dumping, Toxic Odors are reported and where the Bayview Shipyard is located.
